Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Originally I tried renewed hope in a jar that came with my kit of 5 things but it wasn't enough especially with winter dryness. Although left soft and non greasy, my skin felt tight shortly after applying. Loving the rest of my kit, I figured it was just the wrong one for my skin. About my skin, I'm 35- oily, acne scarring and large pores, hyper pigmentation, dark age / sun spots with a side of dry scaling unpredictable psoriasis. It's fun. Take a deep breath was the perfect balance. I don't feel heavy or greasy and my oil glands didn't go in overdrive an hour later trying to compensate for dryness. I can actually see my pores blur when I apply it, almost like a primer. Feels powder soft after. Calms the redness of my psoriasis too when many make it flair. Only philosophy lotions practically erase my psoriasis not only on my face. They really are instant gratification products. Im now a loyal Philosophy believer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ahhhhhhhhhhhh!! I've tried so many moisturizers from not only Philosophy but also many other drug-store and high end moisturizers. Since I have naturally oily skin, I've spent 20+ years dealing with it and shying away from any moisturizers. My skin has now become dehydrated as I approach my 40's. Because I've been so disappointed with so many moisturizers, I've refused to buy them. However, I finally needed to do something because aging, meds, hormones, and childbirth has done a number on my skin. So I broke down and decided to order the Take a Deep Breath moisturizer. Ok, can I just say how nervous I was? I tried Philosophy's original hope in a jar and I was so turned off by the lavender oil. It made me so allergic and nauseated. And the texture never sit right on my somewhat oily skin. But I digress. I pushed aside my fears and anxiety and I am so glad I did. The texture of the Take a Deep Breath cream is wonderful. Its kind of a gel consistency, but also kind of whipped and creamy. It absolutely sinks right in. Don't worry about it sitting on top of your skin and acting like an oil slick. It just sinks in. But the most amazing and wonderful aspect to me is the scent of this moisturizer. It smells ever so slightly of green tea or something green, maybe cucumber? But it's not overpowering at all. And trust me, I have severe eye allergies so take it from this critic... if you are sensitive to smells or have allergies like me, this is not overpowering. The Green tea/Cucumber scent is just so light and delicate. It's almost got a Spa quality to it. If any of you have been Philosophy girls long enough, you may remember the Be Somebody shower gel line. OMG... I miss that. It smelled like Green Tea, and this cream reminded me of that. So you're thinking ok, so it smells great and feels great going on. But so what? what does it do for my skin? Well, let me tell you... my rough alligator moon crater skin feels soft and supple like my baby daughter's skin after just 1 week. My skin is not dehydrated anymore. This was money well spent!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light & Refreshing As someone with combination dry/oily skin, finding a moisturizer can be really challenging. I really love this gel cream! It keeps my oily spots from being oily but also moisturizes my dry areas too. And since I've been using this, my oily forehead, nose & chin aren't near as oily. It's great to put on after the Help Me retinol cream. My daughter uses this too with her normal/oily skin and her skin looks beautiful!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of my favorites The scent of this product is so refreshing, I'm a little obsessed with it. I have the hardest time finding face creams that don't feel too heavy, leave me shiny or feeling uncomfortable. This makes my skin feel great, it smells wonderful, and I'd recommend it if you have oily areas on your face but still want a moisturizer.
