philosophy: 1/2 c. white sugar, 1/4 c. cornstarch, 1/4 tsp. salt, 2 egg yolks, 3/4 c. water, 1/3 c. lemon juice, 2 tbsp. butter. heat sugar, cornstarch and salt over medium heat. beat egg yolks and water. whisk into sugar mixture. simmer until thick. remove from heat, and stir in lemon juice and butter. cool completely. in tall glass, layer with your favorite fresh fruits and fresh cream.
